They clean top to bottom every day. Because they have floors not carpets, there are fewer germs than in most hostels. Laundry on site -- just $3 for wash and dry. Managers are very responsive to your needs. I am older and wanted a bottom bunk and was given priority over other guests. I needed an extra towel, pillow case and sheet, and left a note, and the items were on my bed when I returned. I mentioned in a previous review that there was no real sitting area -- but they just bought a little couch and more tables and chairs. There's an excellent controlled heating system to keep you warm during these cold nights. And you cannot beat the location: it's walking distance to the Metro, there's Giant food and many little cafes a block or two away, and a public library very nearby. I decided to re-book -- twice.

I know all the hostels in DC. If you are here for a short stay, as a tourist or business traveler, and have a limited buget to boot, this is your best bet. Location is terrific, close to two metros, bars and restaurants with varying cuisine, cool cafes, and a Giant for discount food shopping. You can walk down to Gallery Place is less than 10 minutes. Shetu, the manager is great, very helpful. There is onsite laundry ($3.00 total)

I have stayed here many times and appreciate the low cost and the convenience. The location is close to a metro, a large grocery store, lots of restaurants and cafes and a public library. The staff is very mature. They mop the entire place and clean and disinfect the bathrooms daily. It has a modern washer and dryer -- a perk that most hostels lack. If you are staying for more than a few days, this is very helpful.

To improve bathroom service, consider implementing regular cleaning schedules to ensure cleanliness and hygiene. Additionally, providing essential amenities such as hand sanitizers, well-stocked toilet paper, and soap dispensers can enhance the overall user experience. Finally, clear signage and maintenance checks can help address any issues promptly, ensuring a smooth and pleasant visit for all users.

the staff are really relaxed about rules and the people staying there are really chill types that are pretty social its a bit sparse on the facilities but its cheap and theres a giant supermarket near by too also the filter coffee machine works so if you buy some coffee at giant its great
